Hi.

What does PCM filters ?
What for are they ?
Which setting is best for listening normal rip from CD ? I use raspberryPi as my music source.

Thank You.
Darek

They can affect the sound but it's usually very subtle. The default one is usually good, but if you check reviews here it will show which has the best performance. They can affect the treble rolloff, or note weight with pre and post ringing. The thing is most are so minor that you can tell a difference maybe on one song but not another. Just check reviews and use the one Asmirm notes for the best performance. Can't go wrong doing that.

I would go with fast filters, with slow there is a small risk of higher THD (Artefakts) at higher frequency and 44khz sampling.

The filter is mandatory, Reconstruction Filter. This subject has been done to death at ASR, for example, Minimum Phase vs Linear Phase. I'm in the linear phase camp as per sampling theory. Also, I can't hear anything at those frequencies.
