Sorry about the delay. I'll do my best to post detailed instructions with supporting photos asap. I used real thin leather for the headband which I sourced from my old leather bag, super glue and sawing machine.
I would pay for this headband replacement service.....
Mine started to peel...

I don't know them. I just did the most comfortable solution. The Sony MDR 1a are very comfortable and more or less the same quality compare with the original pads . But the Sennheisser headband is better I think. No sweat and very light and it looks like it was made by the factory. Easy to exchange and better quality than original parts .

With the hexaconn connector it has a much richer bass on fiio and Sony nwz zx2 .

My apologies, for not replying to your request. This weekend I will sit down and write step by step how I've done it, with supporting pictures. I'm in Australia, Sydney. If you have any problems we can arrange something.

Folks, I’d like to try some Dekoni hybrid (velour/sheepskin) pads, but their website doesn’t list any Oppo fitments. Does anyone know if there I are any equivalent fitments from other brands that work for the PM3?

I've ordered a couple of pads Sony MDR-7506 / MDR-V6 / MDR-CD900ST
I was able to squeeze them over not using any kind of glue...
They're not as confortable as the original ones, the opening is a little smaller and the pads are pressing on the ear...
Here's a few pics

I think I'll replace them with something else at some point

Has anyone tried Brainwavz ProStock on PM3? From the size it seems very close to the stock PM3 pads. 105 mm high, 84 mm wide, 23 mm thick (without plastic clip), 57 mm inner length, 35 mm inner width. Maybe just a slightly smaller inner width.

Did you try these? How did they work? I'm gonna need to run this upgrade on mine soon.

I didn't try those earpads because it was quite expensive and the inner hole looked too narrow.

You can buy any aftermarket earpad with a shape and size close to the original PM3 earpads. But don't expect the material to be as soft and plush as the original earpads, because I haven't found aftermarket earpads that are as soft as the original PM3 earpads.

And these are some things I came across about replacement earpads for PM3:
1. Look for the shape and size as close as possible to the original earpads
2. Besides you have to use the plastic clips of the old earpads, you also need to keep the driver cover cloth of the old earpads. You can replace the aftermarket earpad driver cover cloth with driver cover cloth from old original PM3 earpads, as this affects the sound texture.
3. Leather/sheepskin/lambskin materials generally make the treble a little more recessed than the pleather
4. The connection gap between the earpads and the earcup is a crucial part that can affect the bass. you have to make sure the part is tightly closed for maximum bass. if there are small gap between those parts, then the bass can be reduced because some of it slips out through the gap before reaching your ears.
