So I am quite confused as I own a pair of Audeze LCD-2C with 70 ohms and 101 db/mw sensitivity. According to the headphone power calculator on headphonesty.com at grossly 80 mw they already reach a dangerously loud 120 db. Then why on Audeze's site it is written that they need a source with at least 100 mw power to properly function? They even recommend something that can give a scary 250 mw or more. Is there something more about power other than volume?

Here's tech specs of Audeze LCD-2C from manufacturer's site https://www.audeze.com/products/lcd-2-classic

Here's the headphone's power calculator by Headphonesty https://www.headphonesty.com/headphone-power-calculator/

Thank you :)

Are they loud enough for 'ya (without pushing the amplifier into audible distortion)? :p

When they give you sensitivity in mW rather than Volts or mV, picking an amplifier can be a little tricky because amplifiers are voltage sources and (mostly) "voltage limited". You get more wattage with lower impedance.

Thank you all :D I suspected that, but wasn’t 100% sure until now :)
