Farewell my friends. Health is deteriorating - I'm fading out. (Updated - RIP)

So sorry to hear about your failing health. I too have enjoyed reading your posts. Hoping for the best possible outcome in the future.

I send you my warmest prayers for the journey ahead. Keep up the good spirit and enjoy whatever time you have left with your loved ones!

I write this with sadness - likely the last post here for this 80 y/o audio hobbyist and music lover - as my beautiful 6CA7/6SN7 YarLand vacuum tube amplifier warms my tiny house. It's been a very good life.

I was sick two weeks ago, during which I fell (slowly, gently) twice and it took me more than an hour each time to get back up on a piece of furniture - no injuries. My neuropathy has taken a big turn for the worse. My mind is clear, but my body is fading. I have virtually no feeling in my fingers and can no longer walk - even with my rollator/walker (photo below) - so I sit in it like a wheelchair and shuffle around.

Truly wonderful friends - particularly Peruvian artist Richar Huisa, his wife and two daughters (mi familia en Panama) - are feeding me and assisting me, and showering me with love.

ASR has provided me with great pleasure for the past few years, and I want to thank all of you for making ASR the best internet audio community ever. I have spent hours here every day, and feel a wonderful, friendly connection with many of you

I will read responses to my post, but it will be too difficult reply to more than a few, if any.

Farewell, my friends. I will not be back unless a miracle occurs.

Really sad to read this , you are a pleasure to have around and always were one of those members who's enjoyment of the forum made the effort of managing it seem worthwhile.

Thank you for being such a joy .

Thank you so much for being real and brave to face life to the end and be willing to talk about it. A good reminder for all of us. To share this deeply personal anticipation of your life ending shows a genuine interest in your connection with us and giving us an opportunity to reflect on our time together. A very sincerely felt thanks.

Bumping the thread up so Xulonn knows we're thinking about him!

Thanks @Canuck57 since I totally missed it.

@Xulonn I'm very sorry to hear about your health problems. And I hope I'll be able to act as sincere and with dignity like you when the time comes to me.

However there is stilI hope you'll get better and I send you all my best wishes:

And keep up the training! I will surely miss your posts, so maybe a speech to text conversion program might help you to stay in contact with the virtual world.

Just want to let everyone know that with care from my friends and the fortunate ability to still ride my exercyle a bit, I have made the tiniest bit of improvement in mobility and strength in my legs. I spend much of my day at my computer in the 2nd bedroom that I use for an office and media room, and I can look out my window at the tropical landscape and the low mountains a few kilometers away.

ASR is an amazing community, and your response to my medical deterioration is very heartwarming. I could enjoy a beer, glass of wine, or a cup of coffee with any of you.

@Xulonn,
Like all of the well-wishers, I am deeply saddened that you are spending less time here at ASR.
But for another reason than every one else, thus far!
You were the one that always gave me the "Likes" and w/o your presence, my ratio is going to take a big dive.:(
Thank you, Dear Friend!

Hi @Xulonn. Happy to se your likes. :)
Amen,
My prayers continue to go out for you and others suffering from the weaknesses of age.
At 72 I know my day is just around the corner, some details of which are already visiting me.

Somehow I missed this post and am glad to see others continue to let you know how many folks respect and value you here. Like many others, I have always enjoyed your spirit of adventure, gentlemanliness and enthusiasm to engage with many topics here. We'll keep your seat at the table warm here indefinitely. Be well!

@Xulonn I wish you all the best my friend. You have been a prime example of a Class Act, which many of us can only dream to follow. While i can not walk in your shoes, I somewhat feel as at this point in life, I am walking along side you.

Without going into depth and detracting form your story and the pain you find yourself going through, I can empathize in more ways than one.
In the last year I have lost 80lbs and 3 weeks ago shortly after my mothers passing, I finally had to move into a senior living facility. Lets jsut say, it's a whole new world.
Anyways, keep pushing forward brother, you have a ton of ASR family members pulling for you.
