Hi Folks,

looking for a new bedside alarm clock / streamer, preferably with an integrated amp (but a stereo pre out might be ok) - which can accept a BT feed...

For my 9yo son's bedroom.

I have speakers and amp I can use (although integrated amplification would be more convenient)... want something easy to use, and which can be "fed" from android phone apps, or stream independently.

His current bedside clock/speaker sounds rubbish ... the smartphone speakers end up being clearer!

Any advice gratefully accepted!

thanks

Not exactly what you are asking for, but have you thought about a Google Nest speaker (or something similar), I haven't used one but maybe the kids will find it more convenient.
That's exactly what I ended up looking at last night....

Also looking for something that has decent parental controls.... and we may end up with something like the Google Nest Hub....

In my bedroom, I use a basic Lenovo 10" M10 Android tablet streaming via Bluetooth to a pair of Edifier R1280DB active speakers. The tablet is plugged into a charger that is built into the base of my bedside lamp.

There are many Android apps for streaming music from internal memory, internet or NAS sources via WiFi. Android parental control apps are also abundant. I use a full-screen analog clock on the tablet while it is streaming. Analog or digital clock/alarm apps are readily available. (Amir reviewed the Edifier R1280T speakers w/o bluetooth, and liked them. I think they are great for my "going to sleep music" and general background music. Like most active speakers, the Edifiers have remarkable bass output for their size.

I recently bought one of my children a Bluesound Pulse Flex 2i, a small multiroom streaming speaker. TuneIn is always included on Bluesound streamers (for internet radio and podcasts). Can be used as an alarm clock via the BluOS controller app. It’s a surprisingly solid well made product. If you buy a second one you have a very compact wireless stereo system. What I also like are the physical knobs on top of the unit, for volume, presets, etc.

I use an LG G7 phone that streams over LDAC to my TV soundbar fed via RCA from a BT LDAC "DAC" product. Below is what I have.
