I have recently taken in some vintage turntables that I am restoring. (It's a long story but I am trying out various turntables, 2 of which I will keep and the rest give away to friends.) I have a Denon DP-35F, DP-30L II, Sony PS-X50, and my first ever turntable, a Dual 504.
Simply, I want to get these turntables working as close to spec as possible. I have been able to clean, lubricate, rewire, recap where needed, but the smaller adjustments are beyond what I can do without proper equipment. I am currently working with a Fluke 101. I may upgrade it to make things easier for me.
My needs here are generally restricted to the following types of jobs:
(The last one is from a Nakamichi RX-505 that was sent in for servicing but came back running at the wrong speed! I figure I'll give it a go as people are asking for $1000+ for thorough servicing.)
In other words, is there something cheaper than a Rigol DS1054ZZ that is recommended for an oscilloscope? There seem to be various (and cheap) digital oscilloscopes and I'm wondering whether any of those are recommended or if I should stay away. (e.g. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265140351107)
Would this power supply or something like it be adequate? https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07X2VZSL9/
Is there anything else I should consider. Again, I think I need the bare bones that would allow me to service turntables. I may look at friend's turntables if this works out.
Thanks!
