Hi

I recently received new ATC SCM 11 speakers for which I bought new speaker cables.

I cannot get the bananaplugs in the binding post! Only for 1 centimeter, and then it is still way too loose to keep them like that.

I did remove the little black and red dustpans.

I tried applying a bit of force

The plugs are 4mm Chord Ohmics.

What am I doing wrong?

Can you include a picture of the binding posts and the cable ends?

I've had some banana plugs which required a good deal of force on first insertion, though not the same type as the picture.
Also had some speaker sockets with very shallow inputs for banana plugs - needed to drill them deeper. :) Though those speakers shouldn't be like that.
??

I see the jumper straps so they probably screw-down like regular binding posts and you should be able to use spade lugs.

Have you tried unscrewing the red and black knurled nuts? You may find a 4mm hole exposed that you can insert the banana plug into and tighten it.

You're doing nothing wrong.
All of those Deltron-Style bananas suffer this side effect due their lenght that is usually exceeding the standard bananas.
Same matter happens using Viborgs or XLO bananas, it's just a mere question of allowance of the bindings.

It's anyway a good step-up if compared with the meager contact surface of olive-standard bananas.

Just to close off: after an email from chord, I tried some serious wiggle, twisting and force and managed to get them in! Not all they way but almost, speakers sound great!

Thanks for update, may help someone facing the same problem.
