If your phone has an actual headphone jack, get those Zero 2 IEMs to try out. They are $24 or $25. They sound great and are well worth the price and then some.
Thank you very much for the suggestion. :)

Grab a $9 Apple USB to 3.5mm adapter and you'll have enough power for any IEM and many headphones. It'll open up so many more options for cheap. I have the 7hz Zero:2 and the best value for IEMs currently.

iPhone SE2. I would prefer wired. Thank you!
Hi

TCZ Red $46 or Blue $42 + tax at Amazon
Apple Lightning to Headphones dongle: $7.95 + tax at Amazon.

Total <$70 for a , yes, you read it right, REFERENCE IEM system using your iPhone as source.

You are left with $230 for the headphones system...

Qudelix 5K $109 + tax at Amazon
Hifiman HE400Se $110 + tax at Amazon.

Reference sound. in both.

Thus for your budget, you have both IEM and headphones.. You could also use the Qudelix for the IEM ...

Peace.

Easy to drive headphone recs coming up:)
I have no idea what sound signature you’re after, so I am just mentioning some faves of mine that all are fairly close to a natural music presentation.

Openback:
Sennheiser HD58X
Sennheiser HD560S
Aune AR5000
Beyerdynamic DT900 Pro X
Philips X2Hr

Closedback:
AKG K371
AKG K361
Beyerdynamic DT700 Pro X
Shure SRH840a
Shure SRH440a
Røde NTH-100
Sennheiser HD569
KRK KNS8402 (big bass)

As for what is ‘best’? That is entirely down to the ears of the beholder.

I'd like to second the Beyerdynamic DT900 Pro X for open back, and AKG K371 wired for closed back (the bluetooth version is tuned for battery life and doesn't sound as good).

If you have an actual headphone jack, I would strongly recomment the Simgot EA 500 LM's for $90. All metal (not plasticly resin), and a very dark, smokey grey. Understated, they just look like a much more expensive set. They sound excellent and will be easy to drive on your phone. Extremely dynamic with great solidity on the images, though not a large soundstage.

Got that 7hz Zero: 2 3 days ago along with that zonie cable. Running for 3 days and they are good enough for my use to listen to Tidal/Qobuz/Youtube via iPhone. I'm new to IEM but being an audio fan for 20+ years. I don't use EQ now and less likely in the future. Just casual listening and enjoy.
