I've long wondered about the back story, because it is such a mammoth undertaking.

Veteran radio broadcaster David Gleason built a nine-million-page archive to set the record straight on what he sees as the medium’s oft-distorted history. The Library of American Broadcasters Foundation is honoring him for the effort.

I use this site for a lot of my historical references. There is stuff here that I couldn't find any other place. Great resource!

SDR absolutely fascinates me.
I get oh-so-tempted to dip a toe in it... but I suffer from terminal naivete in terms of where to start.

I started because they hired me for RF design lol. Although I also seem to get assigned to the care and feeding of the ADCs.

I discovered this archive quite by chance, I was looking for back copies on sale of 'Studio sound' which David there has thoughfully scanned every page of decades worth !
but starting at home page its a record of much more than I thought
