SOLD!!!: (UK/WW) Benchmark AHB2 Silver / Black, Mint

Hi There! Selling this gorgeous powe amp on as I need to significantly reduce the footprint of my hi-fi in the living room. Would have kept it forever otherwise. It's the Benchmark AHB2, widely recognised one of the quietest (if not the quietest) hi-fi amp out there. Extreme S/N and distortion...

Anyone heard the new Technics 1200-G/GR?

I hope you're right! However it's been two months and no direct comment from Bryston. How did you manage to get in touch with them? At this point pmc are suggesting i pay for the replacement but hoping Bryston will chat directly.

Anyone heard the new Technics 1200-G/GR?

I have a feeling that Bryston will come through as well. They haven't got such a good reputation in the pro market for nothing! Of course I'll have a look around while I'm waiting though...

    CDs---Grampa's relics?

I have to say - having some inside view from the current state of the music industry, I don't think that vinyl can be considered a fad. Even if you just consider 'napster guilt' there is a whole new generation (or two) plus the original generation (or two) showing interest. Perhaps it won't stay...

Immaculately kept, given regular cleaning and care, and recently given a clean bill of health by KMR in London. These...

what are your industrial design favorites?

McIntosh come to mind - not because they are the most elegant, because they are memorable. No matter how many times I see that blue and green glow, combined with the very utilitarian lines and gothic font, my brain still goes 'whoa, what is it?' like an eight-year old. Whether you love or...

Anyone heard any higher end PMC monitors like the twotwo.6?

I recently heard the PMC studio 6 and studio 8s (with and without sub) next to a pair of MB3A's, and they were - well, decent! Loads of detail, reasonably fast bass, and can imagine lots being happy with them as tracking or mixing monitors. I felt the image was a hair shallow and they didn't...

What headphone(s) do you own ?

AKG K872 - apparently the last design from the Austrian AKG team before they were sold to harman! I've found them really great for a 2nd reference, and great for catching tiny issues during denoising/restoration of audio :) Driven straight from a Prism Sound interface, no need for an external amp.

    Soaring

I was lucky enough to do an assisted flight in one of these at the age of 6. I didn't quite grasp the concept, so when the tow plane dropped the line...
