Review and Measurements of Benchmark AHB2 Amp

He's right.....AHB2 at low gain and the ADI-2 DAC at +19dbu cranked up to 0db feels like it would damage my hearing.

RME ADI-2 FS Version 2 DAC and Headphone Amp Review

Same here for us watching baseball and our MLS games, though most of the masking and distancing rules are gone, or in the process of being done away with---except for younger children. But, after a year and a half, still a bit odd/novel to see both our professional soccer and baseball games...

RME ADI-2 FS Version 2 DAC and Headphone Amp Review

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the NFL football season doesn't start until September. Oh, wait....you must be from one of those places that play something the rest of us call soccer. ;);)

Is REL being more 'musical' than SVS a myth, or is there some real science behind this?

This is what I was able to achieve (took about a full day of tweaking) with mains running full range, and two SVS PC-2000 Pro subs, semi-diagonally opposed. I generally followed the Geddes approach. One sub is running on a speaker to line-level converter, the other sub is directly connected...

Speakers and Subs - FR or XO?

An example: SVS's specs for their SB/PB/PC 2000 Pro series show, on the high end, +/-3db to 290hz.

Speakers and Subs - FR or XO?

Quoting Geddes [In all of this, he's talking about integrating multiple subs.]: " Overlap with the mains is unusual in my approach. Most people would suggest a crossover, but for a number of reason, this doesn't work very well (crossover all the subs at the same point?). How will this add up...

Speakers and Subs - FR or XO?

Google "Earl Geddes, subwoofers" for one point of view on this. There are a number of other experts that subscribe to the crossover at "xxhz", too. Seems to be kind of a "pick whichever one suits you and your gear, and give it a try" area....not one where there is definitive and uniform...

Integrating subs with Minidsp SHD, should you block main speaker ports?

I just watched this. Very interesting and informative re. the Geddes "method". Certainly one of a number of ways to do this but, in my particular situation, probably closer to what I will actually have to do as opposed to what I might like to do. The Geddes Multi-Subwoofer Bass Optimization...

Integrating subs with Minidsp SHD, should you block main speaker ports?

As near as I can tell, the SVS's only have a low pass. Nonetheless, I've had a little bit of experience integrating the old subs with full range speakers (using the speaker level connection), so I think I'll eventually get there (famous last words, I know!). I gotta' read up on this Geddes...

Integrating subs with Minidsp SHD, should you block main speaker ports?

Interesting to know, thanks, @johnp98. My belief is that, due to my layout's limitations, I'm pretty much locked into Geddes' approach, regardless. So, I'm pretty convinced that your (or Geddes' way as the case may be) way is, indeed, how I'm going to have to do this. Good to hear that it's...

Integrating subs with Minidsp SHD, should you block main speaker ports?

I have to admit my "rookieness" here. I think, because of both the equipment I have and my physical setup limitations, I've believed I have no choice but to run them full range. I have to run the subs with speaker-level connections because I cannot run wire from subs directly to amp (which has...

Integrating subs with Minidsp SHD, should you block main speaker ports?

Agreed.....my current thinking is to leave the ports plugged. In addition to that 28hz hump, it appears I have a nice +9b peak right around 88hz---nothing to do with the ports, of course. Because of that, seat of pants would have me thinking that crossing my F208's at 80hz might be a bit too...
