What on earth are these things?:

They look like USB hubs, but I suspect they are something more esoteric.

Looking at the system, I reckon the owner has spent more on tweaks and cables than I did on my whole set-up. Although, less on acoustic panels.

Indeed it looks like a couple of USB hubs.

Ps. Just a thought, maybe it's blowing air on the record to keep it dust free?

The are snap, crackle, pop and static erasers.
Image how good those speakers could sound with a digital source and some Benchmark amps.
