I’m sure amir does make money from his YouTube content, since it does get a significant number of views.
Being sure doesn't make you correct.
There is no monetization of the YouTube site.
Anything else?

Fair enough if there isn’t, I wasn’t aware. That doesn’t change the fact that most people will appreciate reimbursement for their time spent creating content. Granted some can afford not to be and that’s ok too.Being sure doesn't make you correct.

People get jealous when they see people making money doing something they enjoy.
Well we’d need to ask him what his listening level was for this test. And basing your positive blind test results on pathological listening levels and repeat training on a 'tell' moment is , frankly, bullshit. It's got zero to do with what people experience in normal listening.
Thats what I’m hoping. If anything good comes out of this, it'll be Chinese brands seeing it as a new challenge and optimising their filters, hopefully after addressing the hundred other more important things people have been asking for like EQ and DSP.
Ok we seem to be going a bit off topic and it’s spiralling into GS hate.
I don’t think any of that is for this thread.I wouldn't call it hate. I'd say he showed up here some time ago and took a huge piss in this pool, which some of us aren't likely to forget.
Many don't appreciate the deception and threats he has employed in the name of self promotion, and have no particular interest in sending views his way.
Why off topic? It makes absolute sense to discuss the motivation behind the published ABX test with such a misleading title, since headphones.com sells DACs and not digital filters. And pointing out other financially motivated endeavors of his has nothing to do with golden boy hate.Ok we seem to be going a bit off topic and it’s spiralling into GS hate.
This thread would be way nicer if we stayed at the facts and measurements.
I was super interesting with people trying to explain stuff the scientific way.Cause that's ASR's strong point.
But...
Yes, GoldenSound is not the nicest person, but this thread is not about getting personal, it is about the results and conditions of the ABX test. "Ad hominem" arguments are usually only used if you are not able to find good arguments of the matter at stake itself. Aren´t we here a scientific forum? Let´s stick to that.Would you say this about Amir's ASR channel for example, i.e. the purpose of it is to make money? From my understanding the purpose is to provide information and educate people.
So Cameron is there to make money off this... always seems to be seeking that next "viral" video.
You've not been here for long, so I assume you missed the part years back where Cameron threatened Amir with a false tax matter, amongst ridiculous other accusations of impropriety. It's ironic he now seeks the cashola and sponsors.

Exactly, don´t go on the low level as your "opponent". Staying on the scientific aspect of the question would do us well. This thread would be way nicer if we stayed at the facts and measurements.

. . . and yet, you couldn't resist getting personal by mentioning that he is not .....Yes, GoldenSound is not the nicest person, but this thread is not about getting personal, it is about the results and conditions of the ABX test. I'd rather preserve my hearing than crank my music loud enough to hear the minuscule (and not important) contents above 20khz, if it's still even there and the mastering engineer hasn't already cut a significant amount above about 16 to 17khz (let alone 20khz) to get an increase in headroom. None of this particularly matters though as Golden Sound is more than likely falsely using this as part of some justification for actually thinking some DACs sound smoother and warmer than others or whatever he peddles on his pages. I largely see him as an objectivist concern troll because of this. Technically accurate, yes. Greatly important to sound to most people? not really. If anything good comes out of this, it'll be Chinese brands seeing it as a new challenge and optimising their filters, hopefully after addressing the hundred other more important things people have been asking for like EQ and DSP.
What do you mean by "believe"? Did you do the Foobar ABX?I don't know if posting this link is allowed or not.
If it gets removed, then I'll know.
I took the test, and I believe I could hear differences. Closing time May 15th.

Ahem.Exactly. Tedious stuff. Nobody is going to put a serious amount of work into creating YouTube content for no monetary reward.
