Better without Tash. Like Jeff Beck is better without Imogene Heap(mumbling warbler with poor diction). :p IMHO, YMMV, etc.

Don't be sorry. We all have our preferences. ;) I think Ella Fitzgerald is a greater talent than Kylie Minogue. Ella who?

PS. Talent transcends recording quality.

No, her recordings are usually not so good. Of course as a singer she is great.

Hi amirm... it was just a joke for our Australian friend...because he had really put a lot of very good female singers artistically...but the sound recordings aren't great! that's why I propose Adèle always with a lot of dynamic compression to complete the paintings !!;)

A bit like the pixel focussed photography forums. Removed from the creative world. Technically obsessive.

hi ... but creativity, art, is far too subjective to be analyzed .
if a picture is blurry or out of focus you'll notice immediately!!

As an artist Kate Bush would be my tops, but her actual vocal performance is only ok. So I’ll propose a few others
Emma Kirkby
Victoria de los Angeles
Sarah Vaughan

Here's one I love.
Brandi Carlile is one of my favorites. Listen to her all the time. She was also born in our state. :)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandi_Carlile

Brandi M. Carlile (born June 1, 1981) is an American folk rock and Americana singer-songwriter.[1] Born in Ravensdale, Washington, she dropped out of high school to pursue a career in music, teaching herself piano and guitar. Her first commercial album, Brandi Carlile, was released to critical acclaim but to limited commercial success. Carlile garnered wider recognition and commercial success with her 2007 single "The Story", from the album of the same name. The Storyturned gold in 2017, having sold 500,000 copies to date.[2] Carlile's most successful album to date, The Firewatcher's Daughter, earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album and peaked at number 9 on the Billboard 200.[3]

Well this isn't on Tidal so I bought the cd. First one I bought in a few years.

Virginia Rodrigues, that particular album is superbly well engineered/recorded...2die4. Turn the volume up and let her enrapture you with her voice and the superb rhythm, timing and pacing of the musical instruments masterly played by the musicians...the Mozambique of the performance, the magic of the moment, the essence of the music quality recording.

Cool, you must have seem them live then?
They aren't together any more, they did not last, very sad.
C'est la vie.

* Music is in its purest form when played analogue, it's the most direct access to its soul, its essence.

And Live is analog.

Big Portishead's music fan here.

This one will kick you right in the feels, then. Apologies in advance.

Much darker, more haunting version than on the album.
Also, a much better recorded version than my last post, this being from 2008.

For something different but still very much in my vibrating chords:

_____

And this group is not for everybody; it is d'avant-garde poussé.
Only for fun pleasure of humor life in a décadent world losing its touch with terra firma, home of the human species and international music.

You have very good music taste.

Significant other would definitely argue with you on that.
She hates Portishead... like facial-expression-indicates-cat-poop-consumption hates...

I think they're brilliant.

I want to say thanks for all the suggestions, it is really hard to find music without some tips. Even though there are millions of songs in tidal its surprisingly hard to find good music that I haven't heard before without knowing the album name, name of artist, etc.
This is also showing me just how much music is missing from tidal libraries.
