CROWN $370 K2-❤️

Just hooked up a newly acquired low mileage Crown K2. I already have a Chinese Crown xli2500 with similar power specs into 4 ohm stereo. 800 per channel for the vintage American built K2 vintage vs 750 for the xli.
… My god the difference between the 2 is very noticeable. The k2 has a wicked bottom end kick and so much clearer vocals/acoustics. All for $370!

It's very hard to believe that you're REALLY hearing those kinds of differences from ANY properly working amplifier. I'd be more inclined to believe you if you said one of the amps was distorted or if one had more hum or hiss. But, with about 800W available you probably aren't clipping/distorting unless one of them is broken.

The differences would probably go-away in a proper level-matched, blind, ABX test.

Dang, I had the "over" until someone brought up you needing to do a blind ABX test at 2.

I have been told my numerous Crown fanatics that the Chinese built Crown amps are junk compared to the vintage American stuff. ( macro, k series ect) cheaply made with substandard quality control.
I was impressed with the xli2500 until I hooked up this K2. Has more bottom end kick. The damping factor on the xli2500 is 200. On the k2 it’s.. 3000 !!. The clarity of vocals/ instruments with the k2 playing blows away the xli2500.
