Moondrop May (IEM with USB C DSP cable)

https://moondroplab.com/en/products/may Moondrop published their own THD measurements which show it to be very low. They do not disclose at what level it was measured.

Moondrop May (IEM with USB C DSP cable)

It still happens even after I removed the app. It also happens on the PC. It's more of whine, like a very fast tone sweep, than a beep This noise is pretty quite and I don't hear it when something plays, only immediately before or after

Moondrop May (IEM with USB C DSP cable)

Once I set up the EQ I wanted (standard), I just deleted the app. The EQ seems to persist regardless. Maybe I should replace my pair if you say you dont get any beeping sounds.

Moondrop May (IEM with USB C DSP cable)

Don't you still get weird beeping when pausing/playing a track (not while it plays, but just before/after)? UAPP doesn't seem to solve it for me

Moondrop May (IEM with USB C DSP cable)

The app needs to be stable and working first, then not require BS permissions. Do you not use streaming services?

Moondrop May (IEM with USB C DSP cable)

Did you manage to get rid of it? I have it each time I pause/play/connect the earphones. For me reference and standard seem to be the same volume, and all the built-in EQs are much lower volume/gain than no EQ. And the design of the tips is extremely dumb indeed. Update: apparently the app is...

Moondrop May (IEM with USB C DSP cable)

Standard should be very similar to Crinacle (FR measures like TruthEar RED) and I find it better balanced than the Harman target (always found it too hot/harsh and bass heavy). BTW standard should be that far-off from the Harman target. I am still unsure regarding the "no eq" FR. This 6kHz dip...

Moondrop May (IEM with USB C DSP cable)

Any THD vs. FR\level measurements available? I wonder at what levels they measured what they posted on the product's page. I mean, they already provide the information - why not go all the way and supply the conditions in which it was measured? Seems like the DSP does affect FR from the box, so...

    7Hz Salnotes Zero IEM Review

Question is whether their default FR is the same without the DSP or whether it is involved, like Audeze had back then when they just released their first planar IEMs (Sine 10/20)

    7Hz Salnotes Zero IEM Review

According to what I saw on youtube, seems like you have only 9-10 bands, all are peaks, no shelves etc. (no gain limit to avoid clipping, and only a limited range per band) Overall, quite limited and better use another app, like Poweramp. I am interested to see whether the IEMs and DSP stand to...

    7Hz Salnotes Zero IEM Review

I am really interested to see how the new Moondrop MAY IEMs will also fair. Not as cheap (65$) but they promise a lot and come with built in USB-C DSP https://www.head-fi.org/threads/dsp-enabled-moondrop-may-is-dropped.970871/

    Dan Clark Expanse Headphone Review

Is it possible to measure the FR with the seal 'broken'? Even though the are open back, I know it heavily affected the FR of electrostatic headphones and wondered whether it might affect these as well

HBK Headphone Measurement Talks from Head-Fi and Sean Olive

@Sean Olive, @amirm - Couldn't the differences between Amir's and Jude's measurements be explained even by seating the headphones differently on the measurements fixture? These headphones' FR varies significantly with placement. In the sense that a comparison between the measurements can be...
