    BLUESOUND goes Dirac Live

I kinda really want to get it but it is really not necessary with my current Genelec GLM speakers which I will not change for at least a year or so.

JDS Labs Element IV DAC & HP Amp with EQ Review

Tried and I could set the filters pretty much like oratory1990 documented. It worked no problem, I don't know what I can tell more about it. It's very simple. On an (more or less) unrelated note the oratory1990 filters for my Denon AH-D5200 include a 5,5 db boost from 110 hz downwards which I...

JDS Labs Element IV DAC & HP Amp with EQ Review

I don't use the equalizer currently. I used Equalizer APO in the past for my previous headphones and was happy with it. I just looked it up and saw that oratory1990 has a preset for my headphones (Denon AH-D5200) so I will try to try that out sometime this week maybe.

    Bluesound releases 2024 ICON streamer

What is the problem with the Icon and/or other BlueSound streamers in combination with genelec speakers?

JDS Labs Element IV DAC & HP Amp with EQ Review

I just got the Element IV today and used it for maybe 4 hours. It works without a problem and I tried the core software shortly and that also did just work. So I am very happy to have something that doesn't require any tinkering. One thing I noticed after a bit of use was that the device got...

Noisy digital audio on LG TVs

Maybe the BlueSound Node can be a solution, at least it is for me. WiiM also seems to work on a solution, but of course it isn't here now and we don't know if it will work for sure. Also both devices are not exactly cheap.

Alerts for watched threads are randomly not being issued

But that is not what I was talking about. I was using mail/notification interchangeably for any sort of alert. Maybe I can go more in detail. When I watch a thread in asr I get a notification (can be email or not) for the first new message. After that I don't get notifications for further new...

Alerts for watched threads are randomly not being issued

I recently joined the Head-Fi forum for one thread and it seems to use the same forum software. I noticed that the notification/mail behavior is different, I get a notification/mail for every new activity in a watched thread, regardless if I visited that thread or not. That of course results in...

Nominate Your Favorite Track of 2024 (Contest)

I've been rediscovering Nine Inch Nails a lot this year and so this is the only correct choice for me.

My Kingdom For A Remote Volume Knob! can this be made?

This seems very interesting. I just wondered if I can do something similar with my BlueSound Node. BluOS does expose APIs for setting volume and much more so that should be no big problem. It seems I need to know the IP address of my device for that though and it seems to be the same for me with...

    WiiM Ultra

FAT32, NTFS, and EXT4 should be supported according to specs. https://www.wiimhome.com/wiimultra/specs

    WiiM Ultra

Okay. I returned the WiiM Ultra about a week ago due to the problems. Some other user on the WiiM forum has gotten a response from WiiM support now that states that the WiiM Ultra does not touch the signal with the digital outputs in any way and so the exact signal from the TV gets send to the...

New setup from scratch - with DSP preferred

It's been a while but I have now gotten all the right cables and converters to correctly™ connect the speakers digitally. So I'm now running BlueSound Node -> coaxial to BNC adapter -> short BNC cable -> Neutrik NADITBNC-M -> AES/EBU Cable -> genelec's. Of course it makes no audible difference...

Noisy digital audio on LG TVs

Got it. Sadly I have to report that I have dropout issues. I created a thread in the WiiM forum for that. Let's see how it goes, I don't feel to positive though and might send it back soon. https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/dropouts-on-coaxial-output-with-arc-input.4971/

    WiiM Ultra

So today I tried using my old simple coax to aes/ebu cable. Sadly with the same result. Dropouts when directly connected to WiiM and no problems connected to the FiiO K3 that is connected to the WiiM. So, I'll create a thread in the WiiM forum now and then I guess I'll maybe update you on that...

    WiiM Ultra

Also true. I sadly don't have any statistics on that but I bet WiiM probably has.

    WiiM Ultra

Please keep it on topic in here guys. No one of you has said anything really extreme and I guess you can fight in you're dm's if you really want to. I am personally not sure if a USB-C input would widen the audience for that product that much. Sure, I would appreciate it but I'm not sure about...

    WiiM Ultra

I actually found this thread yesterday which describes exactly my problem and has some useful information. Who knows, maybe they will do something about it, or they just declare it as expected. https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/auto-sensing-of-hdmi-and-optical-issue.4374/

    WiiM Ultra

Okay, so today I tried 2 things today. First I disabled eARC on my TV because I read in the WiiM forum that that somehow sometimes helps and the WiiM doesn't support eARC, only ARC. Asly it didn't make any difference to me. Then I had another idea yesterday that I tried now and that surprisingly...
