I no longer worry about HiRes as I look for well mastered high dynamic range recordings. Generally, I prefer pre-loudness war recordings as originally released in CD format, not, remastered more compressed newer versions.

If you travel, get the Etymotic ER4-XR. Best warm articulate sound, tremendous noise isolation (great on planes), durable (also has replaceable cables), extremely light, comes with the nice leatherette box with multitude of accessories plus a smaller travel zip pouch.

Get the Etys and use the foam tips. Best seal. Doesn't have the aggressive tip of the triple flange and the foam expands and the seal doesn't change with movement.
