There is absolutely no recognition to the preceding research (namely Harman research) and nothing but complaints about issues. The research by Harman is de facto the standard in the field. Not recognizing this properly and instead doing nothing but throwing shade at the research is simply...
The answer is: I don't
I haven't bought new headphones since owning a pair of Stealth aside from one pair of ANC headphones when my old ones started having battery issues.
Closed back means there are more reflections which can contribute to distortion. But distortion at that level in that frequency region is not very noticable. I doubt most people would be able to hear it including me.
Harman should be the end goal for manufacturers, not for consumers. I'm guessing that a lot of confusion around the Harman target and the spawning of more and more target curves is a result of not understanding the difference between manufacturer goals and consumer goals.
They are not exactly...
No matter the level of experience, if the sample size is 1 there is no scientific conclusion to be had beyond one person finding their own personal target. To get scientific insight you need to have reproducible results and consequently people willing to replicate your experiment as well as...
Yeah, I don't like the VIVO cable much to be honest. I owned a DCA Aeon RT already so I just use the more pliable cable that came with it on my Stealth.
I'm pretty sure you can contact DCA support to work something out though. They have been really nice and responsive in all interactions I had...
Comfort should be no issue with DCA headphones. I use my Stealth minimum 8 hours every workday with no issues and I don't have reason to believe that the E3 would be any different.
I think getting a neutral headphone and adding EQ to get a closer experience would be sensible.
And "normal" levels are what exactly? If you tend to listen at 90db max or below, you likely won't hear the distortion. But for anyone who likes to crank the volume (even if just occasionally) the distortion would likely be audible.
This doesn't mean that the measurement or perception is wrong...
Since the bass region needs close to a +10db boost in the sub-bass area (which already has the highest distortion) to match the Harman target I suspect it's not that unlikely that bass distortion will be audible after EQ.
Moondrop has two TWS models, the Nekocake and the Space Travel (I think they used to have another model, but it was discontinued?).
I have owned and used the Nekocake for a little more than a year now. While the sound quality is pretty ok (needs some EQ to be satisfying to me), the ANC is very...
I second the Antlion mic suggestion. I've been using the wireless version for 2 years now and it's pretty stable.
The controls take a bit to get used to since there is only one button and the on/off/pairing function is mapped via press duration.
I personally found attaching the mic to an...
