    Charles Sprinkle's Kali Audio LP-6

You can't be sure yet, this is pure supposition. So far you seem to be barking up several wrong trees.

You said to correct you if you were wrong. If you are talkiing about a series resistor inside the box, between the power amp outputs and the drivers, you are wrong. Very wrong.

Why don't you short the inputs and then report back? Failing that, plug the speakers into a (powered-on) device of some kind with the output gain turned down so the LP6s have some kind of input load and, again, report back. I say report back, because if under these circumstances there is little...

    Charles Sprinkle's Kali Audio LP-6

How is the residual noise with something plugged in? Many amplifiers are noisier with no input load; that is why residual noise is measured with the inputs shorted. Judging residual noise with an open input is not useful.

Dutch & Dutch 8C Kii THREE killer?

There is a puzzling discrepancy between the specifications listed on page 14 of the owners manual https://dutchdutch.com/assets/images/8c-manual-english.pdf regarding power amplifier output. The HF driver's amp is listed as 100W, the enclosure is described as bass reflex which I would not have...

    The dream speaker thread

I don't, sorry. I don't actually follow Clayton's activities much these days; I have other priorities at the moment. I did stumble upon a pair of Emerald Research CS2.3s (two 15" woofers and a coaxial 12", MSRP $5000) for $1500 on Audiogon, though: http://tinyurl.com/h6b45by Compare with...

    The dream speaker thread

It is worth noting that the mid/upper frequency drivers of all but the X1 are coaxial with proper compression drivers, not domes, and fire through the pole pieces of the 12 and 15" drivers, using the cones as horns, like Tannoys. The advantage of this lies mainly in the consistency of the...

    The dream speaker thread

It's worth noting that Clayton Shaw, the original creative force behind Emerald Physics (with which he is no longer associated, I think), has a new company known as Spatial Audio and has some newer, very well received designs; some at very attractive prices: http://www.spatialaudio.us/about/ I...
