You are right, you can definitely get a discount. Out of curiosity, I checked the price at a local big store (in Bucharest, Romania) and they have a pretty good deal - a pair of these at ~4600 Euro / 5000 USD. This price includes VAT, which here is 19%.
Congrats, @salmo ! Looks like a neat little device.
It's possible that FiiO KA13 will have better software support than Tempotec Sonata HD Pro. I think FiiO in general has more experience in the field.
I see that FiiO KA13 is already at the 3rd firmware iteration.

Mine arrived too. Same issue with the hardware volume in Windows 11, or rather the lack of it. The screenshot is from TempoTec USB Audio Control panel.
I also made a quick test in Android 13 with AIMP and couldn't figure out if there's any indication of the hardware volume; I suspect not...

Thanks. I am willing to do as I said; I also noticed it's available at FiiO's AliExpress store. The reason why I'm still hesitating? It seems AliExpress will also charge the local VAT (standard practice for EU-based customers), which bothers me a little. I intend to order the product to ship...
