I wish ASR had existed 25 years ago! Recovered audiophool, but fortunately never had enough money to buy the cables, power supplies, and various snake oil accessories. Formerly a geologist for about 2 years. Realized I hated it and have been in IT for the past 20 years.
Also, I have learned that if you like science with your audio, avoid vinyl enthusiasts like the plague. They will throw terms like dogmatic and cultist at people who prefer the scientific method over what they perceive. They are the flat-earthers of the audio world.
