The gasket is the same for all models. You can cut it to length. I can send it to Greece easily.
You can measure the low frequency response even with a laptop microphone and compare it with a known speaker such as your other Genelec. The low frequency extension should be at least as deep as the...
Have you tried with the center speaker above the television, tilted downwards, and the left and right speakers at ear height? Or is this not practical? Would this result in an angle lower than 37°?
Here are the monitor placement recommendations from Genelec...
I can send you mine as I did not use it. Please send me a direct message.
Otherwise you can ask your audio dealer to order the "U-profile gasket for 8xx-series enclosures" (part 240-8000). It should be around 9 USD. Or maybe use some type of o-ring and verify that the low frequency response is...
In this long overdue part we will look for the root cause of the weak bass output of the Genelec 8020B. We will fail to find it... but we will learn a lot along the way.
Circuit board overview
Let's first have a look at the board to see if there are no bulged capacitors or some overheated...
Compared to the leaked brochure, the official brochure now precises "Constant Delay and Phase". What is meant by that? According to research by Floyd Toole humans are not responsive to phase. What are then the real world advantages of having constant delay and phase? Does it for example allow...
The bottom part of the 8381A does have a port at the back similar to the W371A.
I do not know what the limiting factor of the 8381A is compared to the 1235A but funnily enough, the technical specifications of the 1235A now lists it as having a "Quad Midrange System" with four 5-inch drivers. :p
So "Genelec_8381A_Brochure.pdf" was published yesterday evening on their website by mistake. I contacted them to delete it which they quickly did. Ask me anything.
This.
I am guessing 4 midrange drivers and 2 bass drivers in addition to the 2 coaxial drivers of The Ones as shown by @gr-e. The second bass driver would be positioned in the back (at the top?) similar to the W371 to help cancel the null modes of the rooms. The 4 midrange drivers would give...
Scaling the Genelec logo to the W371 makes the 8381 look much bigger, for example with a 14" woofer.
If the size is right the two midrange drivers would both be around 5". It would therefore not make much sense to add the concentric 1" + 5" drivers of The Ones series but I added it anyway on...
To check if it's the fuse without disassembling it, you can disconnect all power (!), put the power switch to the ON position and check the resistance between the positive and negative power pins with a multimeter. If you get an infinite resistance (OL), the fuse is probably blown. If you get...
Are you sure the digital out would output what the turntable is playing? I have the impression that it only routes from USB to SPDIF or OPTICAL and not from the phono line-in.
