Thats certainly one way to go about it. Comparing hard numbers using published specs of each device but the reality is that in doing so you are no different than say a surgeon who learned his/her trade by only reading the books instead of one who read the books and did the cutting. In my case...

What no Thunderbolt3? All new DAC's should come with this interface standard IMO or at least having both USB and TB3. Seems like without TB3 you are already introducing an outdated piece of kit.

At those prices one should expect to see a nice air gap on the board between L/R Output Channels and another separating the Inputs from both Outputs. What a sham!

I hope they jump into the multichannel realm as an additional wish. Something with bi-directional communication and at least 8 channels. Two cherries on top of that would be doing it all via ETH and allowing Linux without drivers via ALSA if USB is a requirement. The DAC3 works well with Linux...
