Master AI (Artificial Intelligence) Discussion/News Thread

I'd rather say, far lower parameters on newer models since GPT-4 vanilla was super heavy to run on datacenters, right? If you mean MoE - yes, with that more parameters could be possible since the computing usage is far lower. My favorite currently is Gemini 2.5 Pro, by far. But I guess in 3-6...

HEDD TYPE 05 A-CORE Monitor Review

??? This one is smaller but has far better bass extension and low end distortion handling? Also it's active and cheaper. This high end distortion isn't good but at this point it's plenty masked. You can use this little guy without a sub, but not the Ascilab. Edit: Noticed that this time, the...

    Multiple subwoofer optimizer (GPU accelerated)

Is this also the backend for Acoustica or some new version of A1 to come? Btw stellar work on Acoustica, I could finally replace my "old" A1 Neuron 3.1 optimization with the latest Acoustica optimization and it's noticibly superior! Thank you!

    Nubert NuVero 60 Speaker Review

Current setup is having them "firing parallel" + a tiny toe in to not be perfectly on axis on the walls. I haven't verified this yet but my hunch is that a slight asymmetry helps providing cleaner ER and reverb decay. And yes, my left wall has this issue, it's very close to the speaker and even...

    Nubert NuVero 60 Speaker Review

Oh I should have reported back a little. Of course my audio journey went on. After trying out NuVero 70 again I realized in what kind of another levels the KEF Ref 3 Meta play, so I sold them almost right away again plusminus 0 €. Yes, the NuVero play wider, but also require higher room...

    AsciLab F6B Bookshelf Speaker Review

The passive radiator helps a little in bass extension and moderately in bass performance distortion. It's a tought question whether to get these or just the ones without the passive radiator and just get a sub with crossover at about 100-120 Hz. Anyway, great design. I never knew common two...

SMSL VMV A1 Pro Stereo/Mono Amplifier Review

Too expensive for what it does. FAR too expensive actually.

What a waste of time, parts, money and creative energy.

KEF R11 Meta Tower Speaker Review

I am 90 % sure it's the flare issue. KEF should have briefed Amir about that. ANd they should take more care in actually fixing this fixture or send out a PSA/write into the user manual. Either of these ways would be fine, but doing none of those is pretty lenient from KEF. Btw the Reference...

Audison Forza AF C8.14 Bit DSP Amplifier Review

14 channel car amp with DSP at that (reasonably transparent for most cases) performance for this price? I'd give this a hard "pretty alright". Is there anything that comes close to this?

GRIMM Audio LS1c & SB1 DSP Speaker Review

Wow, the radiation pattern is something else. Paired with that linearity, distortion performance and cool features, this is actually a reasonable price for that speaker design. I think I even saw it at the High End and left with an approving nod. Thanks GRIMM for brining something fresh to the...

    High End Munich 2025 - May 15-18

Ok, a little off topic, but by far the best realization I brought home from the High End was increased awareness of room acoustics and how dramatic the impact can be. I just repositioned my two diffusors and the improvement is rather dramatic. I wish I didn't have the habit to just do my thing...

    High End Munich 2025 - May 15-18

As I understand it, TexTreme has a weight/stiffness-ratio surpassing aluminium domes, basically appreaching berylium-like performance. The main advantage is that they can handle higher frequencies before causing a breakup with messy radiation patterns. They can be used for tweeters, mids or...

    High End Munich 2025 - May 15-18

    1. Larger, since there were huge bass drivers and overall more baffle to work with. Still really point-sourcy. 2. More relaxed, probably since the Distortion even in the low level range was below -40dB at our listening volume of about comfortable 80 dBSPL 3. More precise, as if the room didn't...

    High End Munich 2025 - May 15-18

Nope, Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00. Gosh, my feet hurt so much. Then again I was kind of stupid for wearing my flat semi-business-sneaker. The crowd capacity was kind of okay. I always got a spot, often even a seat to listen to all speakers. I don't know how it was on Sunday.
