Hi there, it seems that there is quite some favorable feedback on both brands/ranges. And as chances would have it, they are fairly comparable: here the Elac Debut F5.2 and JBL Stage A170 ... both in the 5" class: here the Elac Debut F6.2 and JBL Stage A180 ... both in the 6.5"...

I am mostly worried about stereo imaging and soundstaging ... I guess one could simulate this by stacking 2 speakers in a mono signal ... you should run into the same problem of "comb-filtering" (valleys and mountains of adding/subtracting frequencies) ...

mine is red... the best sounding ones were the red ones ... :cool: this amp spoiled all others for me ... (mind you, I'm not saying its the best amp out there - but good bang for the buck) If anybody is interested, a short recap of highlights of this (then) $300ish amp ... can be run at 2...
