The basement would be my choice, solid walls preferably. You can then fairly easily build a room with a room with all the necessary acoustic properties fairly easily and without disruption to your everyday life

Suspended rooms sound like suspended turntables and I've never liked Linn.

Isn't the better answer to get the underground room and connect all the equipment racks to the underlying bedrock (okay, not that far) or at least the concrete slab floor?

I'd RTA the rooms when you have narrowed down your search, find out what your dealing with before you buy it and then look at what needs doing.

Doing this you might stumble on a room that's close to 'ideal' with little extra 'work' needing doing..
