Without intending any offence or to upset anyone....In this thread (and on other forums) there are a lot of comments wishing that the unit had more inputs, different outputs, bigger screen, no screen etc etc. Ultimately manufacturers have to design a product that will have a big enough market...

Thanks for replying. I did end up getting the LPA and it has been great (here in sunny Western Australia). No heat issues at all. Mind you, I don't really test its limits at all. Pretty moderate volume use with reasonably sensitive speakers.

Waiting on the Ultra - it is the device that kept me from getting a DMP-A6. I have a Pro running into a reasonable DAC into my living room and the Ultra seems just the thing to make my system a little more user friendly for the whole family, without costing a fortune. Pretty amazing products...

My Audiophonics amp is about 6 months old and I have only moved to using a 12v trigger on it about a month ago. Might turn out that moving to a trigger setup rather than using the power button will be a good move in the longer run.... I'm in Western Australia, so a long way for replacement parts...

No practical difference as far as I can tell - aside from I think the larger case had twin 12v triggers and some built in heat sinking. I bought the smaller case (LPA-S500NC), so no heat sink but heat generation has not been a concern at all for me. Very happy user. If I bought another I might...

My LPA-S500NC, which is a similar hypex based amp from Audiophonics is also dead silent - though I run Lintons which are 90dB sensitivity. I use XLR connects.
