No. Mostly I did not understand what happened to the signal. I knew the amp was amplifying the full band signal, but I also knew the low frequency energy was not hitting mid/tweeter driver. Did not fully understand what was occurring. For a number of reasons, I do like the idea of biamping...

I listened to a Luxman for a bit with some very high end speakers and I had a similar impression of the sound. It was not the speakers and at the time I thought it was the room. It was still very nice, but not my preferred presentation.

@OldHvyMec Have you tried the SLP-05 with a SS amp? If so, what were your impressions? Did the SLP-05 change the sound characteristics or impart any 'tube' sound or take off any rough edges? Any thing you did not like about the SLP-05? Thanks.
