I love the midrange of A17!!! Bass is actually very good in this situation. They seem to extend a lot furhter than specified. My room is treated ,but it is not perfect. Now I seem to have a bass boost just where they drop off (I have not measured yet but I believe around 35-40hz or so). Lovely...

I believe PSI positions the A25 as their best monitor. But it depends on the situation/application what is best. As I just posted I will be selling my A21 because A17 fit my situation better. Though I am pretty sure that A21-M is the superior model.

personally i use them nearfield as my primary setup and the the freq response is stable if i move around (my neumanns change more in freq response) only the mono ‘point’ is very sensitive. so if you go from left to right it (partly) moves along with you (same with the neumanns).

above 250 does not radiate backwards and below 30hz the output drops, so effectively the output is a perfect cardioid, but if you want to be ‘right’ then enjoy it!

when the output drops to the front it also drops to the rear. i have 944k and 11k (see attached acoustic diagrams)

k series are all full range cardiod (check out the diagrams on the website. check out rl933k for example).

944 is nearfield. use it as such and be amazed i would say. imo there are not many (if any) nearfields in this level. and i have used and own(ed) quite some.. geithain shows listening distances on their website. within those conditions they are ideal. outside you can use them but they are not...
