WiiM Pro Plus - Review & Measurements (Streamer)

Roon did work, and functionality is great. BitDefender network scan, however, found 422 vulnerabilities immediately when I connected it to my network.

    Adam T5V Review (Studio Monitor)

I have these T5Vs with the Adam sub, T10S, and in a well treated small room (9'x9') they sounded great. Particularly like classical on them, so much so that in my old apartment I preferred listening to a number of songs on these guys over my much more expensive ones. For reference, I also have...

    Denon AVR-X4700 AVR Review (Updated)

I believe mtbf in this case may be indicating that half the fans will have a failure in that time span, not that the fans are not expected to have an issue until the mtbf. I agree if the fans work well, won’t lead to earlier defects, and wont interfere then include them.

Do we need more Bat movies?

I thought Bale nailed Batman and made all the others look silly. It was hard to watch Affleck come after. I wasn't a fan of the 3rd Nolan Batman, but overall the trilogy renewed my interest and showed how a more realistic tone in the super hero movies could work well. Heath Ledger was...

    FS: Revel F226BE Walnut

Selling a pair of Walnut Revel F226BEs that still have plastic on them and have no visible wear or issues. They're about 1 month old and unfortunately I've come to the conclusion that they aren't needed in a 5.2 setup as surrounds (*overkill) in my space. Will be replacing with M126BEs if...

    Seems relevant to audiophiles

my mother had me escorted out of our apartment at 17 in handcuffs and brought down to Jamaica for 6 months of boot camp, then flown to Montana for an additional 2 months; after turning 18, left at a train station in Montana with $50 and a ticket to Seattle, which I was not from. Not sure...

Denon AVR-X6700H Home Theater AVR Review

I'm happy to report Denon has offered an exchange for my 6700H with no hassle. Although the messaging has been a bit mixed, as of now, I'm happy with the response and will have no problem continuing to be a customer of their products.

[Poll] How do you listen to music?

I think the best setup is usually able to be done at home, which gives it an edge. In a car, if done right, you can be enveloped in great sound too and you get an added bonus of basically making your own music video. Some of my fondest memories are driving all day and night through the country...

If costs wouldn`t matter , what would you buy ?

I recently got a bonus, a promotion, had a birthday by myself (so sad!), and have been saving for quite awhile... so I really did kind of do a 'costs don't matter' splurge. Ended up getting a pair of Revel F228be and a pair of 226be to integrate into a 7.2 setup. The center channel is on back...

Denon AVR-X6700H Home Theater AVR Review

Agreed. This, though, is how they lay the foundation of if customers trust their brand going forward. I work for a very successful company that ensures everyone understands this - earning trust and obsessing on the customer experience is a top priority. Make your business decisions with that...

Denon AVR-X6700H Home Theater AVR Review

I didn't take their response as indicative of a lapse. It was a decision they made to use lower quality components to meet a deadline. If this test wasn't done, and Amir hadn't been in communications with them, I'm not certain it would have come to light.

Denon AVR-X6700H Home Theater AVR Review

Doesn't leave a great feeling when you pay for quality and are told the manufacturer used a lower quality part to meet a deadline. Nice of them to offer a replacement I suppose. /grumble Continues to affirm Amir's work and impact on the industry. Well done Amir.

Measurement and Review of Schiit BiFrost Multibit DAC

I think you may have joined a forum you know little about. The idea is to agree on tests that represent quality and then evaluate objectively based on the results. Can we think of anything else that could apply to? TVs, Cars, Computers, Refrigerators... so much. Would you yell at someone...

Is "Live" Sound the Gold Standard for Audio? Why? Why Not?

I don't think so. I like the music more than the musicians, the venue, or the fans. There are occassions when the crowd adds an element that I enjoy (pink floyd pulse, johnny cash @ folsom), but most of the time I'd prefer an environment which is best suited to record the music and only the...

    Revel M105 Bookshelf Speaker Review

sorry for the dumb question, but in those charts, what is the x axis measuring? E.g. we look at 20480 Hz on the vertical chart. I see +/- 40 degrees at the 70 mark on x. What's 70? Thanks!

    Configuring a PC as a 8-ch pre/pro experiment

I'm pretty curious to hear what you came up with. What hardware components did you use? Did you get (e)ARC working so you can have audio from components connected to the TV?
