    miniDSP Flex

Hi @glc650 , Great idea to use the Pre90 as a switch box as the Flex doesn’t have ht bypass feature. I use a high quality passive xlr switch box, but it doesn’t have remote control. Does the pre90 have remote control? Do you use the pre 90 with fixed gain input? (I assume you use flex’s volume...

I would do time integration between the mains and sub. You can use Alignment Tool in REW , you probably have to delay the mains. Remember to measure with time reference on. Then you put the delay value in the plug in, before run Dirac.

    Genelec with external subwoofer

Hi, I strongly recommend you take a look at Minidsp SHD line of preamp/Dac/processor. You can use the extraordinary Dsp functions of it to integrate your sub (s) to your Mains.

On the fence ready to buy VTV 1ET400A Purifi or VTV NC502MP hypex...?

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

Regarding the position of the sub, I had the same misconception, again. I had always put the sub near the speakers, but in most cases these are the worst places to put the subs. Then I broke the rules and found in my living Roon places where the Bass was much better, near the sofas, near...

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

It’s not complicated, the Bass for the subs can be a inexpensive one, Topping D10 will fit the bill! Flex digital will be released in few months

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

I had the same misconception before. Bass is tricky!! If you send mono signal to both subs, you still be able to adjust the phase and delay of each sub separately. In minidsp phase and delay are controlled after the input, so no problems. The advantages to have two subs reside os the ability...

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

I prefer to have two subs in mono. So In1 and In2 both goes to 3 and 4 outs (all checked). I strongly reccomend use two subs and both receive L+R mono signal. It smooths out the Bass much better... Also put your subs Front and rear of the room in diagonal position.

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

You can also wait for the Flex Digital Only. Its the same as the Studio, without the streamer, and much cheaper (it has less processing power)

Minidsp SHD Review Updated (DSP, DAC & Streamer)

Sorry, I did not explain correctly: The SHD Studio has 2 digital outputs. One Digital output is stereo, so you have 2 dig outs = four outputs. But you have to buy another dac (could be a cheap $100 D10 Dac from topping). So the D90 goes to the main Speakers and the other DAC goes to the Sub...
