I've searched high and low but I have not been able to find a owners manual for the UDRA-M10. It took me awhile but I finally figured out how to set the clock. I have two really old Sony CD players that sound very good; they must have a pretty good DAC as I didn't really hear any improvement...

I read through the flyer and the DAC sounds pretty impressive. "18 Bit, Multi-Bit, Dual D/A Conversion System ... on par with much larger and more expensive stand-alone CD players" My $600 Schiit Bifrost has a 16 Bit Multibit DAC. The new $800 Bifrost 2 has dual 18 Bit Multibit DACs.

I don't know about a A-S501, but this is a very good sounding amplifier. I've moved on to more expensive and more powerful components but as far as sound quality goes you will have a hard time beating the UDRA-M10. It is rated at 40 watts per channel @ 4 ohms so will be a little less into 8 ohm...
