    Topping PA5 Review (Amplifier)

hope the next model has the usual XLR + RCA inputs (more than 2), a good remote etc. and a more conventional enclosure design - no need to reinvent the wheel.

    Hegel H95 Review (Streaming Amplifier)

I don't get this argument at all. 2V is the most common output level for a DAC on RCA outputs, isn't it? why would it be a problem? and why didn't they restrict it lower if 2V too high? (it isn't, their argument makes no sense).

    Hegel H95 Review (Streaming Amplifier)

I also have a NAD amp in my secondary system and very happy with it. by premium I mean what their price range is and what kind of audience they sell their products to. just guessing the numbers, but NAD has a price range of $500-3000 or so? and Hegel has a price range of $1000-10000? that's...

    Hegel H95 Review (Streaming Amplifier)

bad show. it's nowhere near the top of their lineup, but I expected the amp part to be decent. and before someone tells me it's decent, no, it is not, NAD C320 shows SINAD of 92db and that is a low end model from a less premium company, made ages ago.

    AKG K712 Pro Review (Headphone)

yes, ideally both new, straight out of the box. but then again age will become a factor, pads degrade over time... not very realistic it would happen though since Austrian models are not made or sold anymore and NOS are very rare and expensive, so I'd be happy with a test with same pads swapped...

    AKG K712 Pro Review (Headphone)

Chinese version is more relevant, true. but Austrian version would also be interesting, since the difference between them is a bit of a myth.

    AKG K712 Pro Review (Headphone)

K701 vs K702 - is there an audible difference in your opinion? there shouldn't be as far as I know. unless you count the K702 65th Anniversary edition.

    AKG K712 Pro Review (Headphone)

agree 100%. they add red/blue accent to the cheapest models, make them bulky and angular, maybe add some bass boost and call it a day.

    Schiit Modius Balanced DAC Review

it might be not that stupid considering some of the Devialet stuff measured horribly. so unless they fold down the digital signal to 16 bit or something there may be an advantage to using an external DAC.

    AKG K712 Pro Review (Headphone)

not gaming, orange is just an accent color on this model. this can be easily explained - it's just an evolution of K701 and K702 models. (and K7XX later). drivers may have changed, pads are different (memory foam on K712, regular foam on older models), but the general idea is close. so I don't...

    Dynaudio Special 40 - WTF!

yep, I don't disagree with any of the above. I think both the Special 25 and Special 40 are probably good speakers, but both have shortcomings shown in the measurements. so I will probably keep looking for an upgrade from my current Contour S 1.4. there are many good reviews of Heritage...

    SMSL HO200 Review (Headphone Amplifier)

classic 5+ different fonts with variations on a single device, RCA labels on different levels. some things never change. :) great performance though.

    Dynaudio Special 40 - WTF!

how else would you compare speakers (or anything else) other than measuring them on the same equipment? also your comment may sound a bit funny considering there are tons of other measurements of the same popular headphones etc. on other websites, that does not mean Amir's reviews have any less...

    Dynaudio Special 40 - WTF!

wow all the reviews I've seen until now were positive, saying the Special 40 is great and sounds better than the competition at this price. and yet it doesn't measure that well. I hope someone will send one in for Amir to test in the same environment as usual to confirm how good/bad it...

Kennerton Rognir Review (Closed Back Headphone)

is there a way to see the post-eq frequency response chart? because without it it's subjective.
