Whatever it is, that price is just ridiculous. Painting 8340, putting them on a stand and slapping a very very high margin.
I know they are a business and have to make profits, but this is just money grab from people who don't know audio.
If I were to buy these and later found out about their...
Check Genelec 8340A or 8350A + GLM kit for room eq. They also come in white color, smaller footprint than Neumann kh310.
Or maybe 2 x kh120 (white/dark) + kh750 sub and with the sub you have dsp, option for room eq with the Neumann MA 1.
Hah, yes. I see we had similar problems to solve.
I wrote previously that I was considering the Neumann KH310 + later the KH750 subs, but I scratched that idea - mainly aesthetics and no room correction/DSP on the KH310, which will require more devices for proper home use at the beginning. I...
Congrats. I see two choices here from Genelec:
$5K budget = 8350A
$10K budget = 8351B
@EchoChamber did you compare ASU/EBU vs analog XLR using the octo dac8 stereo? Any significant difference? I see a dac8 Stereo tour announced on their website.
I went to hear the Genelec bunch in an acoustically horrible room few weeks ago, to understand what the difference is with their GLM kit on/off room EQ.
One model fitted my shortlist for a living room speaker - measured well, room EQ, powerful enough to use without sub, good warranty policy...
I recently discovered Buchardt Audio's active speakers.
A500 Measurements and Spinorama
A700 towers measurements
Look's like D&D 8C got some competition. The floorstanding A700 model is on pre-order, to be shipped September.
Thanks, I thought about the power consumption and it's probably something I can compromise on for the price of the KH310.
8260 are expensive in my area. I would reach for the Ones if that is the case (that they are a more superior monitor).
Something more worrying to me is that the KH310 is a...
When I found this topic I was not happy to spend near $10K for a full range home system, but looking at the pricing and active speakers offer led me to another solution in 'two instalments' and an MVP (minimum viable product) style system building, meaning:
First stage:
2 x kh310
SHD Studio...
Great to hear that! He told me he is in contact with you, so I expect the Neumann kh310 to be sent for a test soon. Have been waiting on this for quite some time, as all my research (and budget) has lead me to the kh310.
