    Sennheiser HD 620S Headphone Review

Sorry for the non-sequitur, but the resurrection of this thread reminded me to add: I remain impressed with the sound of these things. There's is no listening fatigue at all; they seem superbly balanced and satisfying over all kinds of music. There is, however, one thing I hate: the earcups...

    Sennheiser HD 620S Headphone Review

These are my solution: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BL44TW4 I bought those for a set of Radiosport ham radio headphones whose cable is the most infuriatingly microphonic of any that I've ever used. I couldn't even turn my head without drowning out content. To make matters worse, it is rigidly...

    Sennheiser HD 620S Headphone Review

Oooooh - gotcha. Yes, I absolutely know that effect, and it is extremely irritating on some headphones. Sometimes I go so far as to put some kind of clip on the cable to secure it to my collar, which sometimes helps.

    Sennheiser HD 620S Headphone Review

I concur. I just got my HD-620S, and they definitely are sensitive to position and seal. And ... they are really good! As expected from this review, they are surprisingly neutral, and definitely the most open-backy closed-back phones I've heard. I'm impressed. Not really that clampy at all to...

The need of a Headphone maintainability index

I got a polite reply from B&W which basically says they can't help me and I should look for a 3rd party earcup. So, I got less than 8 years out of a $350 headphone. Not ok.

Oops, my bad. I did find an online contact form for B&W. Might as well try it.

The need of a Headphone maintainability index

I've never been accused of being aesthetically-minded (even if I were shopping in that price range). Besides. unless you're in front of a mirror, what do you care while you're wearing them?

The need of a Headphone maintainability index

Not yet. I only recently discovered that I'm not the only one to experience this. B&W was acquired right after I bought them, and they no longer make this model or even sell replacement pads for it. They also do not have any way to contact them except by phone, which isn't exactly convenient...

The need of a Headphone maintainability index

Addendum to my post about the B&W P7: I have the same issue described at these two URLs. A unique failure, disappointing to say the least, and long out of warranty. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/bowers-wilkins-p7-over-the-ear-headphones.681976/page-97

The need of a Headphone maintainability index

Just a "me too" here. I have, like most people, a collection of cans, and frankly, none of them are what I'd call "lifetime" equipment. I guess that's just the nature of personal audio. The oils and sweat from human contact destroy them over time, and at the very least, replacing ear pads every...

JDS Labs Element IV DAC & HP Amp with EQ Review

What he said. I have two or three sets of cans that I like to swap around.

JDS Labs Element IV DAC & HP Amp with EQ Review

I'd be more concerned about the reverse (if I understood you correctly). Giving website code direct access to a Windows driver is serious business (as the Mozilla github thread discusses).
