Your latest cool purchase

Oh god, save me from myself. I saw an ad on local craigslist for an Esoteric Ko7Xs SACD/CD player and I want it. It won't play or sound any better than the DAC's, computer driven or CD transport driven equipment I have but I want it. Is there a priest I can go to that can drive out my old weaknesses and compulsions. One of you must do exorcisms. It is big and clunky and heavy and that is why I want it and also why it is stupid.
It's not worth much as it is a 2013 model I think. I would pay maybe... $50-75 for it... Sounds low I know but it is 11 years old and a mechanical device with disc motor and laser that wear out and it has no warranty. Does it even work do you know?

We travel on gravel, dirt road or street
I wear my Adidas when I rock the beat
On stage, front page, every show I go
It's Adidas on my feet, high top or low

They are a true classic for sure and I have bought Adidas and been very happy but don't they give you shin splints because of the square heels?
This is my first pair of Campus and I have not really used them yet, so too early say. Usually I like sturdy heels (these feel much more robust than Gazelles, for example).

I've had those and Stan Smiths. The Gazelles where much much nicer I think. I have had issue with shin splints and that's why I asked and now I only purchase rounded heels like a hiker/trail running shoe. Specifically I only buy Salomon trail runners now with rounded heels. Not as nice looking as the Adidas you selected though. I like the suede look.

Please review the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro compared to the others later after you get familiarized. :D

Initial impression. Too much bass (and I like bass) compared to the IE200, the HD 800 S and the Zeros 2s. Still figuring out the fancy EQ.

Loaded a custom setting for their MSEB EQ settings - Ultra HiFi and it sounds better. Going to manually adjust the bass.

Done. They sound really good now. The MSEB settings on this DAP are impressive. Complicated. You can change almost everything and save it as as custom setting.

I switched back and forth between the class A and A/B amplifier and I don't hear any difference. Staying on A/B because it uses less battery.

I'm impressed with this DAP and would recommend it. I previously tried the Hiby M300. That sounded good, but it was too small to be easy to hit the buttons on the screen.

Edited to add: Just tried the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Bluetooth headphones with it and the same MSEB settings from the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro sound right to me.
I noticed during pairing the Momentum 4 said using Aptx HD. Didn't notice on the Buds 2 Pro.

Just buy it if the price is right and it plays from start to finish without issues.

I watch a bushcraft YouTube channel and the guy uses one of these very often and he loves it... Says he can cut up like 80 reasonably sized pieces of wood at a time.

It's a RAD. (Rapid Amputation Device).

Another utterly stupid idea- putting a saw chain that close to a hand. Get a proper arborist chainsaw- way safer and more powerful or even a pole saw. No better place for a chainsaw than 8ft away from your body...

It's not my latest, but it's my favorite purchase of the last few years. It's NOS, and took me a year to find.

When it was manufactured Ayrton Senna was still alive.

Are these comfortable to use?
Recently I was stupid enough to volunteer to mark exams. In total I "emptied" 4 of these pens. It still baffles me how people can write 30+ pages in 5 hours without their wrist falling off:

The photo that I posted was a 0.9mm mechanical pencil, but Rotring does make 600 & 800 series pens.

The 600 and 800 series pens & pencils are comfortable to me, but I would not recommend them for long writing sessions. They are solid metal drafting style pens & pencils and thus heavy. If you use them like an architect or draftsman would (slow and meticulous) then they are perfectly fine.

If you need to write fast, then you need something lighter or you will fatigue your hand fairly quickly (assuming you don't have monstrous hands). Jet pens website will let you filter by weight, grip diameter, grip material etc to really help you narrow down your options.

The Schneider Gelion+ uses gel ink, and because of the inks composition you will always burn through it fast. I'd recommend standard ballpoint ink, or a hybrid ink.

I personally like Schmidt easyFLOW 9000 ink, it's a hybrid ink, and comes as a ISO standard G2 refill.

Off the top of my head, i's recommend

The X Fly ornithopter on Kickstarter and Indiegogo. I'm waiting impatiently for delivery, hopefuly later this month:

I think a reciprocating saws all is much safer and usable in more ways. You can get various blade lengths including one longer than this. I have a battery and a corded one. The battery powered one is so handy. I'm not sure of anything the chain saw version could do it couldn't. The chain saw version might be faster by a bit, but much less safe.

That must be a pretty long blade...LoL. What did it cost? I'm not sure what the chainsaw costs.

Blades can be expensive, but ordering a 3 or 5 pack online can be a much better deal. I purchased a 3 pack of Diablo carbide pruning blades in 12 inch size for $24 ($8 each). They last a long time relative to cheaper blades. They generally come in 6 inch, 9 inch and 12 inch lengths. You can get bigger ones, but I don't think they make much sense. The tool isn't strong enough for the longer ones. I did some clearing out and cut lots of brush, a couple trees over 40 feet tall, and cut up roots with it. The carbide blades aren't effected much cutting down in the dirt. I did use my most worn blade for that just in case.

So that is another thing. You can get blades that cut metal. Either thin or even up to supposedly 9/16th inch metal plate. I have not used those, but I have cut thin metal. You can get demolition blades that cut 2x lumber and nails you encounter. You can get fine tooth blades for smoother cuts on things you are building. You can get diamond coated blades for masonry and that sort of thing. They are more versatile than the stubby chain saw, and safer. If you do need a blade change it takes like 5 seconds using no tools which you won't be able to do with the chain saw. Let the chain saw get into the dirt a few seconds and it needs sharpening.
