Eitr is an old Germanic word describing a highly toxic mythical substance with magical properties. It's also the modern German word for pus.
That's probably why they say you should not dig deeper somewhere in the faq hahaEitr is an old Germanic word describing a highly toxic mythical substance with magical properties. It's also the modern German word for pus.

I'm quite a fan of birds. Unfortunately, it's owls, which are nearly impossible to spot!optical things for birding
Have had the pleasure of watching owls hunting, most notably, Strix Aluco - a pair hunting together just before dark for mice and so on. Saw them 3 days in row and they clearly were patroling the same area the same way "everytime", and 3 Asio Flammeus hunting for ducklings paddling for their life on a mountain lake. Nearly extinct hereabout, but we had Bubu bubo hunting around our summer house when I was a kid. Majestic. (I use the latin names out of courtesy, not because I'm particularly competent, had to check the names online).I'm quite a fan of birds. Unfortunately, it's owls, which are nearly impossible to spot!
You probably know way more about owls than I do, but I believe those interested would have to watch out for them when they are hunting to figure out where they rest/nest, and then wait for them to figure out exactly where. Believe that's how to spot them more frequently. By coincidence, it would be very difficult.Have had the pleasure of watching owls hunting, most notably, Strix Aluco - a pair hunting together just before dark for mice and so on. I'm not a photograph, but always carry a small Nikon Monarch 5 8x42 in the outback. 8x is a bit more forgiving than 10x to me. It's pretty good when light is low, taking it's price level into account. Would have to spend a lot more to get something notably better, I'd consider it a great starter, and bought it from an ornitology shop online..
