HK USP 357 mint, got a steal on it, trigger job and other modifications. Good enough for the Secret Service (though hear they changed to a weaker 9mm) good enough for me. And a few knifes for the collection.

Is it the perspective or are those pistols tiny?

It now looks small in perspective I believe.

It's a compact, not a sub compact. Heavy, Helps with the high recoil of the 357. Recoil is about that of a 9mm. These were based on the MKII Socom special forces pistol including being built like a tank and almost jam proof. One past of the test was to ram a bullet half way down the barrel and blow it out with a live round. It passed and kept working.

“200,892. The number of rounds shot through this HK USP before it was sent in for repair.

During those 200,892 rounds, no springs were replaced— no recoil springs, trigger return springs, or anything.

During testing, a bullet was deliberately lodged in a USP barrel. Another cartridge was then fired into the obstructing bullet. The second bullet cleared the barrel, resulting in a barely noticeable bulge. The pistol was then fired for accuracy, and the resulting group measured less than 4 inches at 25 meters.[12]

Temperature testing required the USP be frozen to −42 °C/-43.6°F and fired, frozen again, then be heated to 67 °C/152.6°F and fired. These temperature tests were continually repeated with no adverse effects on the USP.[12]

The gun was also subjected to NATO MILSPEC mud and rain tests; it passed without difficulty. Water immersion and salt spray also presented no problems. German Navy combat divers used the USP for years without any signs of corrosion.

Safety testing exceeded the ANSI/SAAMI requirements adopted in May 1990. These included dropping a USP with a primed cartridge and decocked hammer on a variety of hard surfaces without discharging. The USP surpassed these commercial requirements, as well as German Army and police tests, including repeated drop tests from six feet (1.8 m), hammer first, onto a steel backed concrete slab. Proof round firing resulted in no cracks, deformations, or increase in head space. Attempts to fire the USP pistol with an unlocked breech proved unsuccessful.

Naw, In these times I don't have a itchy trigger finger, I have a itch to get along although I guess with a wife and kids if you're a really loud home invader you would be better off trying a different house.

Time for a timeout while I consider reports this thread could use some moderator review.

Perfectly understood. We're in the Northern Catskills about 2hrs. north of Manhattan so my concerns are more relegated to the stray black bear that raids our bird feeder occasionally.

Today I bought a software app called TuneFusion, made by the dB PowerAmp people. My reason for getting this was that I saw on another forum that it's useful for moving a lot of music onto an iPhone from a Windows environment without using ITunes. I never got ITunes to work right for that purpose.

I'm using it to play music in my car, and It seems to work well. Be aware that the transfer is made by way of Foobar 2000 Mobile, so it helps to be familiar with Foobar. Foobar 2000 Mobile also seems to be a nice music player which works with CarPlay, with replay gain and equalizer features, and album art.

Oddly enough, music seems to sound better in my car, but that's probably attributable to new stuff euphoria. :p

Sort of the same here, moved from Chicago where there was always something to do to a small town in Nebraska (8000 population) where the only thing to do is watch corn grow. Was already into home theater and needed something else to do so I picked up target shooting, mainly pistols as I found them initially challenging compared to 100 yard rifle shooting with a optic where it's hard to miss.

Black bear, yikes. Do you keep steaks in your bird feeder?

So Bear spray, extreme caution at times or big gun just in case. Most small to mid calibers just make them madder. I'm guessing all three.

Bought this minibar fridge to cool stuff because the existing fridge's compressor was broken. Cool buy this minibar and not cool for the main fridge compressor to be broken just after a year. Luckily I opted for an extended warranty that turned out to be a cool move at the time of purchase.
