I think it would be entertaining to see what members have for their setup.

I thought of making a thread asking what I should get but I didn't think it would be as fun seeing what other members have and to generate ideas for my new desk setup in my small bedroom.

Do you mean for speakers or headphones?

For speakers I have a pair of Yamaha hs8 feeding from a Focusrite scarlett 2i2.

For headphones I have Schiit Modi 3, going to Arcam rHead, powering mostly Focal Clear and Audeze LCD2C.
Both actually since I was thinking of how people integrate both.

Currently I have both my laptops on my dining table and use my older beefier gaming laptop to power my Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee's and IEMs.

I guess you mix music since you have the HS8's?

Topping D10 DAC to JDS Labs Atom Amp to HD 6XX or HE 4XX or K7XX or HD 569.
Any speakers?

Which headphones are your favorite? I have the HD 58X's and was thinking of getting the Sundara's as my next headphones. Or maybe some closed backs.

O2 + SDAC > Headphone, IEMs

O2 + SDAC (DAC portion) > Genelec 8030C

I might get/build a switch box to go in before the speakers (too lazy to reach behind and turn off the speakers)

I originally bought them thinking I will do some sound editing, but now they are just for regular music/tv/youtube everyday use. Active speakers just save a lot of space and money on a separate amplifier.
Here is an old picture of how it looks:

Not connected with the DAC or amp but directly to the computer I have a pair of Kanto YU6 Speakers on the desk top.
Don't know if I have a constant permanent favorite headphone, but right now I'm enjoying the HE 4XX.
I have an interest but currently no means for the Shure SRH 1540 or maybe, although these are over my absolute spending limit,

No fancy DACs. Just a pair of Swans M200 speakers and a Velodyne SPL10 subwoofer.

Here is a wiring diagram of the whole system. Two sound cards allow me to record music from the computer (Youtube for instance), or live instruments and vocals. The Yamaha preamp accommodates some traditional hi-fi components. I can record tapes or LPs to the CD recorder, which can then be ripped to the computer. Naturally, I can also play tapes, records or CDs. Hardly every do, but I can if I get the urge.

I have a vintage speaker system in my study, Proac EBS. I have used a multitude of amps over the years but currently a NAD 3020 with built in USB DAC.
For headphones I have a RME ADI 2 Pro and a choice of AKG Q701 and ZMF Eikon headphones.
I don't listen to music when working though.

Main desktop component is my RME ADI-2 DAC fs, and usually joined with it is my iFi iCan Pro amp, but the amp is out of town right now, ;).

What I had in mind was an in-line AB switch box and let the auto on-off feature in the monitor do its job.

Unfortunately my new Tannoy's have no auto off. The JBL 1 Series 104 monitors that I used previously did have this feature and plugging a pair of headphones into the Atom was enough to allow the 104's to power down.

Individual power switching is the way to go. I run my JBL305's through a seperate power strip I can turn on and off as needed.
