Wow. Some amazing desktop setups here! Mine is positively modest in comparison:

Very nice. But you really should put them on stands so that the tweeters are at ear height - not because of the tweeters but to get rid of the muddy upper bass due to reflection at the desktop. Try with some books underneath first.

But I like the way they look as they are.

Also, they have what Genelec calls a 'desktop control', which attenuates by 4dB at 200Hz for exactly the reason you describe. Seems to do the job.

never seen such a USB cord to a keyboard.
It serves no function other than looking nicer than a regular cord. :) It's a custom made pilot-cable, which is a common accessory once you start dabbling in custom keyboards. They're hand-made from paracord and tech-flex material, and are often colour matched to whatever you're using them on.

I know, I have their bigger brothers (8020a). Still you should give it try ...

I have my 8030s on L stands and they sound better than without. I would image the stands would make an even bigger difference with smaller monitors.

It turns out i'm too tight to spend £50 on another cable for my keyboard. I went to work with the heat gun on a spare 3m USB-A to USB-C cable instead...

The coil is not perfectly uniform, but i'm pretty happy with it for a first attempt :)

Noodles are Mi Sedaap. Malaysian :)
Thinking about removing Topping D10s and Drop THX789 and getting a Chord Hugo 2. Waiting for the Mojo 2 to come out at the end of the month first before pulling the trigger.

Very nice. Are you painting with the tablet? I tried some painting with a Wacom and Krita and did OK for the first couple of pics but lost interest because nature scenes where veryyy difficult to realize the potential of the software.

Very nice! I’ve done quite a few illustrations on the MacBook using the tablet, but I actually prefer Procreate on the iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil. Here are a few examples.

Sigh* Those are wonderful and beautiful. You have a very steady hand. I wish I could do that. :D That looks like a Bull Trout as we call them in the Columbia River and area. Fierce fighting fish.
Thank you. Like so many things, it just takes lots of practice and time. I was a designer at an environmental consulting firm for 22 years, just retired last month. I’m looking forward to having time to do art for myself instead of always doing work dictated by clients.

That little golden trout is a distant relative of the bull trout, but is native to just a few watersheds in central California. They’re designated as ”critically imperiled” and may not be around much longer.

Wow. The colors. :D I've seen bright red slashes on trout in Canada with dark spots and tiger spots but nothing like that fish you showed.

None. I have no desire to do any serious listening at my desk except for work-related material, which is decidedly not music.
