I've been moving around lately from my in-laws house to my own and lugging around my ITX pc. Because of this, I got a USB extension that's powered. I connect my Topping DAC to this, would the sound quality be degraded because of this? Just wondering.

No. It either works flawless or sound comes with interruptions or not at all.

Part of my desktop audio setup. In my efforts to make it small, the tone board 2 pro is replacing my big SMSL M500 DAC (the big red box at the bottojm). The raspberry pi runs Volumio 3.

Computer -> Onkyo TX-4500mkII -> DIYSG S2000. In the picture I have a pair of Overnight Sensations that are just acting as stands. I recently added a Khadas Tone Board in the loop to play with but couldn't tell you if it makes a difference. Pardon the mess.

I originally bought them thinking I will do some sound editing, but now they are just for regular music/tv/youtube everyday use. Active speakers just save a lot of space and money on a separate amplifier.

Agree, I've had a pair of Yamaha hs80m for many years and are great for general music listening. Never felt the need to upgrade. Was feeding them from a DACmagic and CCA, now got an rme ADI-2 fs and rpi4, has cleaned up the sound a bit and the clarity is great.

Desktop setup just using an iFi Zen DAC & Matrix M-stage amp -> beyerdynamic DT1990 pro / DT250 Pro

My desk set up at work. I usually only have 1-2 headphones here, but today I was being a little needy. On hand- RME ADI-2 DAC V2, E-MU Teak, 7hz Timeless, Arya V2, 2021 LCD-XC. All of them (except 7hz) have Hart Audio cables for system flexibility and because they offer phenomenal bang for the buck.

They are small, but really do sound great with the sub. Shame the latter doesn't come in white too.
