You couldn’t hear the difference - Proof! Beautiful video of David Mellor (Audio Masterclass) about sound differences between DAC

Here in the community. we need to tolerate hearing feedback.
Anecdotal sighted listening is poor quality feedback for those in search of sound fidelity. It might be useful for those researching the psychoacoustic effects of their equipment's appearance.

You can start by reading this book. Just be aware that the 4th edition is coming out in a month or two, so you may want to wait a bit.

[Edit] Updated the link to the 4th edition.
Thank you for the recommendation. I will look into it. If you have read the book yourself, please share some relevant insights. I guess it comes in October.

As I own B&W people keep asking me how did you manage to make those speakers sing because all resolving speakers are hard to be well configured.
Do tell.
Keith

There are a lot packed into the book. The most important one, and the most challenging to, and difficult to accept by, audiophiles, is the importance of controlled blind testing when evaluating sound reproduction devices (or, equivalently, the uselessness of sighted listening). I'd also recommend sparing a hour or so and watch this lecture by Dr Toole, the main author of the book.

@Imadch This is really the best advice anyone here can give. Reading this book is well worth the time of anyone seriously interested in accurate sound reproduction!
The title reflected my attention: Acoustics and Psychoacoustics. So, we need to study both. Do you know what that means? I will most probably buy the book and read it. I like enjoy also readying digital signal processing books and the physical behind as a preparation for my research on MIR.

Thanks for sharing. I rate the video 5/10. It is 70% subjective and the scientific part is just basics.

Your contributions are just so valuable, thank you.

This is a nicely said question. Lets analyze the two experiences: my LS50 were not the main listening speakers as I use B&W 802 D2 for main listening.
Good speakers and not comparable to a fairly inexpensive, small 2 way like the LS50
the LS50 are studio monitors
No, they were never intended for studio use although any speaker can be used in a studio.

Now we come to the blades. My fried is very picky. He first got the tower studio series ones and his room is not that large. They sounded very bright with a $25K amp.
Cost of the amp isn't relevant - the price tag isn't a spec.

. I auditioned the blades even at the distributor. I remember very wide sound sound stage but lacking details perhaps was to to the source DAC/preamp.
Highly unlikely.

Over and over the myth of blind testing. As long there is no true reference (and there will never be) to compare with it is just the opinion of a group of peoble with different hearing ability and taste. The outcome is just one speaker sounds to me better than the other. OK, but what does it mean for audiophiles who did not attend to the testing session?

Unsighted comparisons simply remove the sighted component, and the associated cognitive bias.
In terms of components the results are often a revelation.
You can blind test speakers but even fine measuring designs sound slightly different.

It is just like audiophiles who have never tested their listening skills. Nothing changed. They just don't know.

https://uae.sharafdg.com/dg/. Is the dealer next to my house in Dubai. I did auditioned them twice and in both cases I did not like them.

Guys lets stop at this stage because you are just asking questions and adding little value bridging useful insights on the subject.

My conclusions based on comparing many fine measuring loudspeakers designs is that the better the measurements the more transparent the loudspeaker, you of course may not enjoy transparency.
And as to not replying to an opinion i don’t like, good luck with that.
Keith
That is true and it is also true speakers response in rooms vary. So, I want my speakers to sound well in my well treated room as much as possible.

Which speaker are we talking about now? The LS50 - I was also unimpressed although did not think them bad.

Or the Blades? - I've had 2 demos (not sure now which versions) neither was impressive, on the other hand we have the measurements indicating they should be superb. So clearly other factors at work there.

Handy to have the measurements as a sanity check to listening, and vice versa.

I bought the LS50 and used them in my house. The blades I auditioned them twice at the dealer. They seem well built but that was my impression. Just take it.

I'm sure you're accurately relating your experiences and I don't dispute that for a second. Some of the conclusions you are drawing from them are what are in question.

You are not in a position to question my feedbacks not conclusions. Moreover, I am always open to updating my knowledge based on good and useful insights. So, please state what you want to say to defend your position. You do not prove yourself right by claiming others are wrong.

If you are into or have been into the business of audio equipment I can simply say you need to refresh your style of speaking to prospects. I can help you if you are willing to listen. We can start a new discussion post on how to market and sell to audiophiles.
