Yellow cones ...

Also another French loudspeaker manufacturers, namely Davis Acoustics, uses yellow Kevlar cones and even gives the choice between yellow or black membranes:

Crypton 6 or Ariane 7 could be an option.

Just convince her golden
Is that the regular one or the Super? The Super is designed to be put near the back wall, just like the Q7 Meta.
This is the regular. I'll look up the price on the super. Could be interesting.

A thought: Focal use a yellowish 'natural' material for some of their ranges (flax, I think). Nice speakers too

Strange question but it could make my life easier.
It seems that my partner likes speakers with yellow cones. :) I had some DIY Joseph Audio RM7i clones which she likes visually. I've just bought a KRK S10.4 sub for my home office, which she likes aesthetically. I've shown her some KRK V6S4's and got the same response.
I want to upgrade the speakers in the living room to floorstanding speakers. Personally I was looking at KEF Q7 METAs. But they don't have yellow cones...:p
Any good suggestions for similar speakers (size, performance, price (Max €1750/pair))... with yellow cones?

Focal appears to have offered select floor-standing loudspeakers with drivers in shades other than black and of a lighter color too. Perhaps a new or used pair can be had that fits your budget. The 'Noyer' (walnut vinyl) variant of the Focal Aria 926 floor-standing loudspeaker uses drivers in a 'tan' color and sells in the USA for $1,996 a pair on Amazon.

I have shown her some examples and I think I we can find some speakers that we both like and where the color of the cones is of less importance.
Now I need to figure out which ones have the objective performance I'm looking for and also fit both our aesthetic preferences. Now that I know better what she doesn't like and why it should get easier.

I was even considering KRK subs, small stands on top and then some 2-way KRK monitors. But for mid/far field (3 - 3.5m) listening that would not be optimal.
I don’t know if anyone had mentioned this yet, I haven’t read all the posts.

There’s no reason you can’t use a “nearfield” monitor in a living room. The only criteria to make something usable at a close listening distance and thus be called “nearfield” monitor is that the sound from the woofer/mid and tweeter sun together at your ear. For example, large tower speakers cannot work when listening 1-2 feet away because of the distance differential between each driver and your ear.

That said, the only time a “nearfield” monitor won’t work in a large room is if it won’t get loud enough for your needs.

This is my main concern actually. Since there's no option to add amplifier power. But in my medium sized room that should probably be no issue with any decent powered monitor.

another option with drivers that are lighter in color and available in a white enclosure

I used a pair with Dirac Live as my mains while waiting for Amir to measure and return a Revel F206. A WiiM Amp now drives them in a secondary location and they take well to the Parametric EQ settings suggested by later posts in the Polk ES60 review thread.

Certainly no white enclosure! Best option are darker woods like walnut.

My Polk ES60's are wrapped in vinyl meant to look like Walnut. The appearance looks more luxurious than competitive floor-standing loudspeakers wrapped in a matte black vinyl. It would not be mistaken for real wood veneer by a woodworking hobbyist.

This is becoming a rubicone. Other than dark oak at least.

I guess she likes a more rustic/vintage style.

I had to make a joke regarding cone's (with a twist). At least push it up a bit more to R600. Will be like R200 with bit more extension and able to push+3 dB higher (to R200). That's not dark Oak, my bad.
Edit: unfortunately those are only three wraps (black, white and wood) across those complete lines. They had darker brown wood finish but only on anniversary edition.

Sorry, I didn't get it.

Her favorites for now are the Kef Q7 Meta. But you don't like them. Any specific reason? The Q11 does measure really well. So do others from the Q series.

My reference is more to the R series. And personal opinion for impedance, not being the big if any improvement to non Metas and so on. As you can't get that high R600 from Polk are rather good choice. Still regular Linton's and pair of 10 or 12" sealed sub's is best sonically you can treat yourself for a budget or you can push it for the Super Linton's. I like my HiFi in the dark with very little thing shining the most and you can dress it up as much as you like regarding me it's just not a first thing to think about. You can get there and with some nice active 8" monitors if you like, even quality one's. For far field you need about +9~10 dB to close field so no 4.5~5" please, not even in a column.
