YAMAHA A-S701 - tear-down, thoughts about the internals & few measurements

The DAC was not even connected to either of the Yamaha units (A-S501 and HTR-6063) when this DC offset was measured so it’s totally immaterial for the purpose of this conversation. Why do you think it is necessary information?

The reason why I mentioned the DAC in the first place is because I wanted to explain why I went down the rabbit hole of measuring the RCA inputs on my Yamaha amps.
I'm out then.
Maybe a member would be kind enough to measure this voltage on their A-S501.

Roland, I honestly did not mean to be confrontational. I just don't want to start a rumour about "this manufacturer's DACs get fried by Yamaha amps etc". I highly respect Yamaha and this other company as manufacturers and, like you say, it is HIGHLY unlikely that 30mV DC offset for a few seconds would do anything to the output stage of a DAC.

I am simply curious why 2 of my Yamaha amps/receivers exhibit this behaviour on their RCA inputs at shutdown. Perhaps @restorer-john can pitch in?
