XMOS on Iphone

Hello everyone,

i´m testing a lot of xmos devices in combination with my Iphone 11 Pro Max. I use the camera adapter and it works fine but there were some
Problems i have. I want to ask for everyone who uses this too!

If i play for example at Tidal a Master Record MQA, the XMOS is silent. No play. At Quobus the same, there it skips every title over 44,1khz.
Now the interesting thing about it. I use the same XMOS device on my old Macbook with the same dac and it works at every sample rate on the same DAC.
Whats the problem here?
The Iphone should not be the problem because it shouldnt convert anything before the xmos device but it seems my Iphone is the problem here

The next thing i figured out on my Iphone is, that if i play the songs which work fine at max volume any xmos device start to distort! Hard distortion. 2 Levels under the max volume everything works fine.

Anybody an idea what i can do? Other Camery-Adapter? Any suggestions?
I switched already between the Xmos U8 and the U208.

I hope my english is good enough!

Not really a good forum to discuss these kinds of issues. It's preferable for you go get more info on iPhone centric forums. Anyways, I'd try to a separate USB power through an external 5V 2A source and see if that helps alleviate the issue. You can start by having a dual USB head cable and connect the power port to your mac or an external 5V 2A charger then the data part from your iPhone CCK since the XMOS needs at least that much power to operate properly while the CCK doesn't provide that kind of power requirements

Thank you for your reply. I have the Apple Camera Adapter with the usb and the lightning connection. I think this is only for Power to the iphone not for the xmos. My XMOS chips dont have any supply connections. I dont know if a dual usb cable to outgoing port for the iphone works when the other head going to a power supply. Sound like a collision connection if you know what i mean.
I cant find any infos about it. This forum works with dacs and i think if there were any people who can try this is it this forum.

Next is the mqa and 192khz content and so on. There is nothing coming thru.

I use a CCK with lightning port for charging my iPod Touch while using the USB DAC. You can try that solution first before heading to esoteric solutions like the iFi iDefender (it breaks the power from the CCK and uses the external 5V 2A power from an external charger)

This adapter is exactly what i use. And with that i have my described problems.
I go with a car charger in my lightning port. And the USB DAC is connected to the camera port.
