Plenty of ctiticism, Ok due to failed mesurements

But, see that way : the out of the box design is possible, so is the good technology

I a near future, we might see those dacs robots coming out with toppings states of the art measurements , wouldnt you ne interested?

That would bring nice fun to audio gear

I' d see a robot streamer, a robot dac and a robot amp ...

So Xduoo,

The path is clear, release (another)one without that silly tube, for say 50-60$ or so less,
and with good measurements all round and you've got something:)

Well at least its lots of the 2nd harmonic, they just need to make an output minus the tube, so theres the choice.....that would enhance its appeal to both camps..

The design is every bit as fun as the performance is not.

Not terrible, in my opinion. Better as a conversation piece than actually in use. The artistic design counts for something to me.

It this thing can drive 8 ohms it would make a fun little guitar amp....if it has an aux input of some kind, it looks like its digital only though.

Wish they had designed a tube bypass. It could come in the form of a bigger brain or something. :)
I thought *tube rolling, *op-amp swapping and products like the *Douk DAC-Q1 were in the ASR TTL (TabooTopicsList), along with *politics, *religion, *etc.

[*ooops]

Hello All,

This xDuoo DM-1 is a cute and clever little gizmo. It is kind of between being a DAC and a headphone AMP.

I like that the AUX OUT is user variable. I doubt that anyone will ever purposely connect it to a power amp and dial the xDuoo DM-1 to 2 volts out. 2 volts input will drive most power amps into hard clipping, loud enough to blow out your speakers and your ears. You might even think of 2 volts as the max distortion, max output setting.

I also like that the AUX OUT FFT shows very little (next to none) power line harmonics.

The robot looks like it is tuned / designed to output classic stair stepping dual triode 12AU7 harmonic distortion.

I can see connecting this little robot to the input of my Benchmark preamp and dialing down the distortion production of the 12AU7 triode, then adjusting the variable gain of the Benchmark PRE to the desired output voltage. Dial any level of Triode HD you like.

I like the robot, it's a pure design product, the sound is not the main thing. My wife liked it so much that I bought it for her at work with a summer discount for her desk, I think it will be a big hit with her colleagues at work. :p:D

Where it’s located… shouldn’t it be “USB-OUT”?

:D

A guy goes to the doctor and says,
"Doc, my ass hurts."
The doctor asks, "Where exactly does it hurt?"
The guy replies, "Right near the entrance."
The doctor nods and says,
"Well… It’s going to keep hurting, as long as you keep calling it the entrance."
