Hi. Newbie to the forum here. Hoping to get some expert advice.
I have a 65" wide desk for my studio set up in an untreated regular sized bedroom.
I have enough space to put 2 sets of studio monitors on the desk for a dual monitor setup to switch between the two to check mixes.
Currently I have the Kali LP-UNF sitting on the inside on some isolation pads. And I have a pair of 1st Gen KRK Rokit 6s on the outside on ISO pads next to the Kali's.
The Rokit 6s, in an A/B with the LP-UNFs are proving how muddy and smeared and harsh sounding they are when compared to the Kali's.
The Rokit 6s need to be replaced. I want to pick a 6 or 7 inch powered monitor that would compliment the Kali's and have a little bit deeper bass and be a little louder.
My budget is up to $800 a pair.
Would the LP-6 v2 be too similar to the LP-UNFs to be redundant? Or would they compliment each other well?
What else would you suggest as a near-field compliment to the LP-UNF?
I wonder if the IN-5s might be a better compliment?
Thanks.
