Worthy Upgrade from Revel Studio 2s?

Unless the OP is strictly 2-channel, that’s how my mind would be thinking. I have Salon2 L/R and would love to add another Salon2 as a center and Studio2’s as front wides. It won’t happen overnight, and it’s definitely overkill, but a guy has to have goals, right?! Maybe this will get the OP thinking about that option.

P.S. $4k+ for a nice set of Studio2’s on the secondary market is a steal IMHO!
I would not go crazy on all around trophies if it is not just trophy hunting, which is of course a fair game gentleman played for centuries.

Bass can always be added with subs and sub integration has never been more seamless than now. It's really the SPL game where your speakers should do SPL you ask of them and low extension is secondary as can be supplemented with subs.

Active or passive, well that is a long story...and I am just an observer in active world.

But $4k+ plus shipping gets you to 5k. Then you're close to 7k for a set of salon2. What a strange way my mind works

I can’t argue with your logic on that one!

Rationally, of course you are right about trophy hunting. But when we’re talking about $50k upgrades for the amazing Studio2’s, or relegating them to surround duties, rationality is no longer what it’s all about. The good news is that on this forum, the OP is among friends!

Could not agree more. Nothing is rational.

I did not get to my system with this logic, and my upgrade goal was more modest as I am aware that my room is a serious limitation for the "ultimate" goal. So going from 6.1 to 9.4.4 was like EUR 25K, including Marantz AV10. But the 6.1 was a bit oversized to start with :D.

I think understanding the endgame for upgrades is what is important. I am absolutely and positively maxed out. Not on the budget side, but on what makes sense side.

BTW: Will be a cold day in hell when I would even audition Perlisten S7t Black, limited, special, and incredible edition. I'd rather buy gold bars in the same value to feed my goblin soul.
