Well, sure, it can be disappointing. It's just that he's American and he said it in the "more bigger numbers is more better" kind of way, as if basketball is better because the numbers say 96-87 or whatever. There are always going to be boring games in any sport.
At least there can be actual play in football despite it ending in a tie.
Come to think of it, the grossest game I've seen in a long time was Austria v Algeria in the group stage. Absolutely atrocious. They can rot in hell.
